Dyke Nook Cottage is part of what was originally a 16th century farmhouse lying on the East side of Bassenthwaite Lake grid ref. NY234 299 close to Wainwright's 'Skiddaw Horseshoe'. It is one mile from the osprey viewing point.

Facing south west, it commands panoramic views over the valley towards Grisedale, Broom Fell and Sale with Ullock Pike and Skiddaw rising just behind.  The beamed living room and bedroom have superb views across the valley.  The cottage is a perfect base for walking, touring, bird watching, relaxing and watching sunsets.

The cottage has full oil fired central heating and is furnished to a high standard throughout.

Dyke Nook Cottage has been inspected and approved by the Keswick Tourist Office.  There is a (rural!) bus service running past the gate and parking space for 2 cars.

For the past 4 years ospreys have successfully nested on Bassenthwaite Lake.  Dyke Nook Cottage is 1 mile from the Osprey Viewpoint which is manned by telescopes (and people!).  See www.ospreywatch.co.uk
